Everett Lowell Jett



OBITUARY

EVERETT LOWELL JETT, 67, departed this earthly life Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010, at Kentucky River Medical Center, Jackson, Ky. after a short illness. Born Aug. 12, 1942, in Fort Wayne, he attended Elmhurst High School. He was a member of Summit City Lodge 170, F & M and a volunteer fireman for the St. Joe Township Fire Dept. He moved to Jackson in 1975 and owned and operated Jett's Custom Cuts until he retired in 1985. He was well known in Jackson and surrounding counties for his catering and hog roasts. Surviving are his mother, Ellis Griffith Jett of Jackson; wife, Judith Harber Jett of Jackson; two sons, Everett (Regina) Jett, Jr. of Campton, Ky., and Curtis (Jennifer) Jett of Taylor Mill, Ky,; one daughter, Jodi (Carl) Luersen of Southgate, Ky.; one brother, Richard Jett, Jr. of Fort Wayne; one sister, Patricia Jett Young of Jackson, Ky.; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Jett. Funeral service was 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at Watts Funeral Home Chapel, Jackson, Ky., with the Rev. Sam Faulkner officiating. Family and friends served as pallbearers. Burial in Dan Griffith Cemetery, Shoulderblade, Ky.
