NORTH MANCHESTER -- Herbert C. Dilling, 88, died Friday in Timbercrest Health Care.

He retired in 1966 from Elmhurst High School and was the widower of Lela, who died in 1980.

Surviving are a daughter, Marilyn Grandstaff of Fort Wayne; two sons, including Donald M. of Fort Wayne; a sister, Blanche Lutz of Fort Wayne; a brother; and 12 grandchildren.

Services are 2 p.m. tomorrow in Timbercrest Chapel. Calling is 2:30 to 4:30 and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today in DeLaughter Mortuary, and 1 to 2 p.m. tomorrow in the chapel.

Preferred memorials are gifts to Timbercrest Home or Beacon Heights Church of the Brethren in Fort Wayne.
