Mary Margaret Downs Purkhiser, 79, formerly of Boonville died Wednesday in Sonoma, Calif.
She completed a master's degree in guidance and counseling from Saint Francis College in 1975. She lived in Fort Wayne from 1951 to 1979.
Surviving are her husband, James; son, Thomas D. Purkhiser of Santa Rosa; and two grandchildren.
Services are tomorrow in Santa Rosa, Calif.
Preferred memorials are gifts to the Alzheimer's Respite Center, 636 Cherry St., Santa Rosa, CA 95404.
