DOUGLASS A. SPENCER, 73, died Saturday at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in Andrews, he retired in 1983 from Elmhurst High School. He was a teacher and later worked in administration, retiring in 1983. He was a World War II Army veteran. Surviving are his wife, Marcella; two sons, Brian and Ricki, both of Fort Wayne; two daughters, Maria Taylor of Fort Wayne and Lori Winfrey of Clearwater, Fla.; a stepson, Terry Shelton of Winterhaven, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Roxie Jo Spaulding of Shell Lake, Wis.; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. His first wife, Donna D., died in 1995. Services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Elzey & Haggard Home for Funeral, 6810 Old Trail Road, with calling from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Servia.
